Redwine Named SSC Defensive Player of the Week

Winter Park, Fla. – For the fourth time this season, Lynn University volleyball's Lacy Redwine has been named the Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week announced the league office.  Redwine helped the Fighting Knights go 2-0 last week and holdopponents to just a .234 hitting percentage.

A native of New Braunfels, Texas, Redwine averaged 7.3 digs per set as the Fighting Knights defeated conference rivals Rollins and Florida Southern.  Redwine recorded 26 digs in a four-set victory over Rollins on Tuesday before collecting 25 in a three-set win over Florida Southern Saturday night.

Redwine keeps inching closer to the LU record for career digs as she now has 1,774 in her four years with the Blue & White.  Redwine is just 34 away from tying Chrstie Schade's mark of 1,808 digs.  She currently ranks eighth in the NCAA with 6.06 digs per set.

Lynn hosts Barry University Wednesday night before travelling toNova Southeastern on Halloween.
