Volleyball Takes The Sting Out of the Moccasins, 3-0

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University volleyball team defeated Florida Southern in straight sets (25-23, 25-15, 25-23) Saturday night at LU's de Hoernle Sports & Cultural Center in a Sunshine State Conference match.  With the victory, Lynn improves to 16-7 overall and 7-3 in the SSC.  The Mocs fall to 17-6 overall with an identical 7-3 record in conference play.

Mallory Deneen led all players with 13 kills on the night, swing .500 for the match with zero errors.  Chelsey Semprini added nine kills while Katie Bradley chipped in with seven as the Fighting Knights hit .304 as a team compared to .231 for the Mocs.

Defensively, the Blue & White recorded seven total blocks compared to just a pair for the Moccasins.  Haley Pratt led the Knights with four total blocks while Sophie Gagnon collected three.  The blocking duo also combined for 11 kills on 27 swings with zero errors.

Senior libero Lacy Redwine keeps inching closer to the Lynn program-record for career digs as she collected 25 on the night, good for 8.33 a set.  Bradley also recorded 13 digs narrowly missing a double-double.

Ashley Martin led Florida Southern with 12 kills on .346 hitting while Anna Niebuhr collected 20 digs.  Setter Ali Skayhan posted a double-double with 20 assists and ten digs.
