Volleyball Exits Panther Invitational Untouched

Melbourne, Fla. – Lynn University's volleyball team wrapped up its weekend at Florida Tech's Panther Invitational with a 25-17, 25-12, 25-13 triumph over Albany State on Saturday morning inside FIT's Clemente Center. The Fighting Knights (5-1) did not drop a set in any of their three matches throughout the round-robin tournament.

"Out of the three matches this weekend, I was most impressed with our performance against Albany State," head coach Adam Milewski said. "We were able to string together a couple of points and get into a rhythm. Reducing our errors really allowed us to get going in that match."

A full contingent of Fighting Knights saw the floor in the win, but it was Lydia West's offense in the first two frames that bolstered the momentum for the Blue & White. Following six kills in the opening set, West added five in the second to finish with a match-high 11 kills on 17 attacks (.471).

Claire Angelich continues to make an impact on both sides of the ball, recording nine kills and three blocks. Nicol Colonna posted season-high numbers across the board with seven kills, five digs, two aces and a .600 hitting clip.

In addition to her 31 assists, setter Marissa Tandron chipped in three kills and three blocks. Libero Katie Knight held down the back line with a match-high 13 digs.

Lynn returns home next weekend for a matchup with 12th-ranked Palm Beach Atlantic on Friday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. To learn more about Lynn's volleyball program both on and off the court, log on to LynnFightingKnights.com.
