Tandron, Angelich Tabbed CoSIDA Academic All-District

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University volleyball juniors Marissa Tandron and Claire Angelich were named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team on Thursday. Tandron receives the honor for the second consecutive year while Angelich earns her first career selection.

Tandron, a biology major boasting a 3.98 GPA, ranks third in the Sunshine State Conference with 9.76 assists per set and 10th in the league at 0.31 aces per set. The setter has also consistently contributed all season to the defense, ranking third on the team in both digs and total blocks. With 820 assists so far this year, the Jacksonville, Fla. native has moved up into second all-time on Lynn's career record book.

Also majoring in biology, Angelich holds a 3.91 GPA in the classroom. The middle blocker has been a force at the net for the Fighting Knights, currently ranking in the top five of the SSC in both hitting percentage and blocks per set. At home against Embry-Riddle the season, the Saint Simmons Island, Ga. product posted 11 blocks to tie the single-match school record.

In order to be nominated in the CoSIDA Academic All-District program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.30 cumulative GPA and have attended their current university for one calendar year.

As all-district selections, the duo will be eligible to be selected as CoSIDA Academic All-Americans.

The Fighting Knights are on the road this weekend, heading north to Rollins on Friday, Nov. 6 then on to Embry-Riddle on Saturday. First serve at Rollins is slated for 7 p.m.
