BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University's volleyball team is preparing to host an array of camps this summer in late July, ranging from youth fundamentals to elite training.
The Fighting Knights are offering two sessions of four different camps, with the first contingent taking place the weekend of July 22-24 and the second group on July 29-31.
The Youth Clinic will take place from 6-8 p.m. on July 22 & 29 and is designed for younger girls of all experience levels, with an emphasis on fundamental skills such as passing, setting, attacking, serving and defense. The cost is $40 and open to girls aged 8-13.
On Saturdays, July 23 & 30, the Blue & White will host an All Skills Camp in the morning (9-2) and an Advanced Position Camp in the evening (4-6:30). The All Skills Camp is suggested for ages 11-15 ($80) with a morning session focused on technique based training and an afternoon session featuring competitive game like situations. The Advanced Position Camp for ages 14-18 ($50) is geared towards players trying to refine their technique with a comprehensive breakdown at the following positions: Setters, Libero's, Middle Blockers, and Outside/Right Side Hitters.
Each weekend will wrap up on Sunday with the Elite Camp from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. ($100). The Elite Camp (ages 14-18) is for volleyball players looking for a more intense camp experience. It is recommended that athletes signing up for this camp have played at least 2 years of club, JV or varsity level volleyball. Training during this camp is similar to that of the Lynn volleyball team with individual development through skill work and competition.
