Tandron, Angelich Repeat as CoSIDA All-District Selections

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University volleyball seniors Marissa Tandron and Claire Angelich were tabbed to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 5 First Team this week. Tandron becomes a three-time selection while Angelich makes her second consecutive appearance on the team.

Tandron is just the third student-athlete in Lynn's history to be chosen as a three-time honoree. In 2010, men's soccer's Kyle Conrad and volleyball's Devon Woolard each notched their third consecutive selection in the Blue and White.

A biology major boasting an impressive 3.96 GPA as a senior, Tandron currently leads all setters in the Sunshine State Conference this season with a career-high 11.27 assists per set and is the only player to have already eclipsed 1,000 assists on the year. The Jacksonville, Fla., native has accumulated the second-most assists in school history and ranks inside the top-10 for the program in digs, aces, blocks assists and attack percentage.

Angelich, also a biology student with a 3.88 GPA, claims her second straight academic honor as a senior. The Saint Simons Island, Ga., product broke the 13-year old school record for career solo blocks earlier this season and ranks in the top-four in career total blocks, block assists and blocks per set.

In order to be nominated in the CoSIDA Academic All-District program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.30 cumulative GPA and have attended their current university for one calendar year.

As all-district selections, the duo will be eligible to be selected as CoSIDA Academic All-Americans.

The Fighting Knights are at home this weekend, taking on Florida Southern Friday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m.
