Tandron, West Secure AVCA All-Region Honors

Lexington, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) released its Division II All-Region teams on Wednesday with Lynn University represented by two Fighting Knights. Seniors Marissa Tandron and Lydia West were selected to the 14-member first team to earn All-South Region honors.

Both players receive the accolade for the first time in their careers while Tandron was also an all-region first-team recipient this season from the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association.

The duo are the first Fighting Knights to receive the recognition from the AVCA since Lacy Redwine (first team), Devon Woolard (first team) and Haley Pratt (honorable mention) did so in 2010.

Tandron becomes just the second consensus all-region selection in program history and the first since Camila Lins in 2008. The Jacksonville, Fla. native is in the midst of a career year this season as she leads the Sunshine State Conference and ranks 10th in the nation in total assists while also topping the league and ranking 14th in the country in assists per set at a career-high clip.

West has produced career-bests in efficiency attacking out of the middle, leading the team and ranking seventh in the league with a .296 attack percentage. The mark is currently on pace for the seventh-best season-long percentage in program history. The Port St. Lucie, Fla. product ranks second on the team in both kills and blocks per set.

Tandron has now accumulated three postseason honors this year with an All-Sunshine State Conference First Team nod while West was tabbed All-SSC Second Team.
