Siqueira Appointed Volleyball Assistant Coach

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University head volleyball coach Adam Milewski has announced the hiring of Flavia Siqueira as the program's new assistant coach. Siqueira joins the Blue and White family following a six-year stint as head coach of women's volleyball at the College of Central Florida.

"Coach Siqueira is a tremendous addition to our coaching staff," Milewski added. "She's extremely experienced, has a track record for recruiting elite level players and is highly regarded for developing young women on and off the court. Coach Siqueira's values and work ethic were a perfect match for us at Lynn University."

Siqueira was the inaugural head coach at Central Florida, leading the squad since the program's inception in 2011. She found tremendous success in Ocala, Fla., earning Mid-Florida Conference Coach of the Year honors all six seasons after leading the Lady Patriots to six consecutive Mid-Florida Conference titles.

During her tenure, the Lady Patriots boasted a 188-59 overall record with a 47-3 mark in conference. The program also claimed a FCSAA State Championship, two runner-up finishes and a National Junior College Athletic Association (NCJAA) District P Championship.

Known for her player development, Siqueira has helped produce five NJCAA All-Americans, three Mid-Florida Conference Players of the Year, two FCSAA State Players of the Year and one NCJAA National Player of the Year during her time at CF.

"I am so grateful and blessed for the opportunity Adam and Lynn University have provided me," Siqueira stated. "I am looking forward to a new challenge and I am excited to join an institution with such a strong foundation and athletic success."

Before taking the reins at CF, Siqueira spent three seasons as head coach at Northwest College, a NJCAA member school in Powell, Wyo., where she led the Trappers to a 90-38 record in her tenure with the program, including a regional championship and an NJCAA national tournament berth in the fall of 2009. The same year, Siqueira earned a '30 Under 30' Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association, one of two coaches from two-year programs to earn the distinction.

A native of Brazil, she embarked on her head coaching career in 2007 at the College of the Southwest in Hobbs, N.M.

As a player, Siqueira signed in 2000 with Western Nebraska Community College, leading the team to consecutive top-four national finishes and earning All-Region and Academic All-American honors. She then transferred to the University of Mary, a NCAA Division II institution in Bismarck, N.D., where she earned All-American honors and led the program to its first national top-10 ranking in school history.

She holds a master's degree in college teaching and a bachelor's degree in physical education with a minor in coaching from U-Mary.
