  • Volleyball Garners AVCA Team Academic Award

    For the 13th consecutive year, Lynn University's volleyball team has been rewarded for its continued dedication in the classroom, earning a 2017-18 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award. The AVCA announced 973 teams to receive the Team Academic Award for the 2017-18 season, breaking the 2016-17 record of 835 programs.
  • Two Academic All-Americans Anchor 2017-18 Fighting Knights' Success in the Classroom

    We are pleased to share the student-athletes’ success in the classroom as the Fighting Knights earned a 3.27 department GPA for the semester. An impressive 38 students posted a perfect 4.0 GPA in the spring. The Fighting Knights shined in the classroom during the 2017-18 academic year with a department GPA of 3.32, while 210 student-athletes earned a 3.0 GPA or better.
  • Lynn Athletics Honors Student-Athletes at Seventh Annual Awards Show

    The Lynn University athletic department hosted its seventh annual Student-Athlete Recognition Awards show on Wednesday evening, handing out a record 44 awards to Fighting Knight student-athletes while also inducting the 18th Hall of Fame class.
  • Udovcic Selected to All-SSC Newcomer Team

    Sonja Udovcic of Lynn University’s volleyball team has been chosen to the All-Sunshine State Conference Newcomer Team, as voted on by the league’s coaches and announced by the conference office on Tuesday. It is the first career honor for the first-year sophomore and the third All-SSC Newcomer Team selection in program history.

    Lynn University’s volleyball team put a stamp on the 2017 season with a big revenge win on Friday night, downing the Rollins College Tars at home in a tight five-set battle. The Fighting Knights celebrated Senior Night before the match, honoring Nicol Colonna, Meghan Ulmer and Trisha Mockapetris.

The Lions finished strong in the final two sets however, securing a 3-2 Sunshine State Conference win.

    Lauren Odom of the Lynn University volleyball team has been named the Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. It is the first weekly conference accolade for the freshman and the first of the season for the volleyball program.

    Senior Nicol Colonna served as the Lynn University volleyball team’s primary setter for the first time in her collegiate career on Tuesday night, guiding the Blue and White to a 3-0 Sunshine State Conference victory over Barry University. Sonja Udovcic was on the receiving end for 23 of Colonna’s 41 assists on the night as the duo helped the Fighting Knights get back into the win column.

    Lynn University’s volleyball team was able to grab a set on the road Saturday afternoon against an undefeated Palm Beach Atlantic squad but the fourth-ranked Sailfish remain unblemished on the year as they took down the Fighting Knights in Sunshine State Conference play, 3-1.

    Lynn University’s volleyball team went the distance yet again on Thursday night, battling from wire-to-wire with host Rollins College to a decisive fifth frame. The Tars were able to rattle off a crushing 10-1 scoring run in the final set to clinch the Sunshine State Conference tilt over the Fighting Knights, 3-2.

The Fighting Knights fell in their opening match to Christian Brothers University, 3-1, before taking a sweep from Lee University in the nightcap.

    Lynn University’s volleyball team rallied itself from the brink of defeat yet again on Tuesday night as the Fighting Knights fought valiantly from a 2-0 deficit to force a fifth set with host Barry University. The Bucs squeaked out the decider in extra points, 16-14, to pick up a 3-2 Sunshine State Conference victory over the Blue and White.
  • Volleyball Hangs with Nationally-Ranked Saint Leo

    After a slow start in the first set, Lynn University’s volleyball team went toe-to-toe the rest of the way with No. 19 Saint Leo on the road Friday night. The Fighting Knights took a tough 26-24 setback in the second frame and faced elimination in the third down 23-19 before stringing together six straight points. The home side ultimately secured the Sunshine State Conference tilt in four sets, 3-1.

    Lynn University’s volleyball team played its third and final home match of the week on Friday night, ending the stretch on a high note by taking down Embry-Riddle, 3-1. The sides traded blows in the opening two sets before the Fighting Knights closed out the win with a pair of 25-20 victories.
  • Panthers Halt Volleyball’s Comeback Bid with Strong Final Frame

    Facing a 2-0 deficit for the second time this week, the Lynn University volleyball squad rallied yet again coming out of the break to force a fifth set. The Fighting Knights weren’t as fortunate Thursday night however as Florida Tech finished strong to earn the five-set Sunshine State Conference victory. The Blue and White back line defense was stellar, totaling 103 digs, marking just the third time with over 100 in a match since 2010.

The Fighting Knights finally returned to action on Friday night at Florida Southern, falling in the first Sunshine State Conference matchup of the year, 3-0.
  • Barry University Cancels This Weekend’s Volleyball Classic

    Lynn University’s volleyball team will have this weekend off in preparation for Hurricane Irma as Barry University has announced the cancellation of its volleyball tournament slated for this weekend. The Fighting Knights were scheduled to play two matches on both Friday and Saturday, Sept. 8-9.

    Lynn University’s volleyball team has sure had its endurance tested so far at the onset of the 2017 campaign, going the distance yet again in both of the team’s matches on Saturday to close out Embry-Riddle’s Bahama House Classic. The Fighting Knights first fell to Barton College, 3-2, before taking down Oklahoma Baptist in the nightcap, 3-2.
