Despite close scores in the second and third sets, Lynn University’s volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to the University of Alabama in Huntsville on Saturday afternoon to close out the 2017 South Region Crossover.
Lynn University’s volleyball team opened the annual South Region Crossover on Friday with a pair of matches against Gulf South Conference adversaries. The Fighting Knights fell in their opening match to Christian Brothers University, 3-1, before taking a sweep from Lee University in the nightcap.
Lynn University’s volleyball team rallied itself from the brink of defeat yet again on Tuesday night as the Fighting Knights fought valiantly from a 2-0 deficit to force a fifth set with host Barry University. The Bucs squeaked out the decider in extra points, 16-14, to pick up a 3-2 Sunshine State Conference victory over the Blue and White.
After a slow start in the first set, Lynn University’s volleyball team went toe-to-toe the rest of the way with No. 19 Saint Leo on the road Friday night. The Fighting Knights took a tough 26-24 setback in the second frame and faced elimination in the third down 23-19 before stringing together six straight points. The home side ultimately secured the Sunshine State Conference tilt in four sets, 3-1.
Lynn University’s volleyball team broke away from a 14-14 tie in the opening frame to secure an early lead Thursday night at Eckerd College. The host Tritons responded however with three-straight set wins to earn a 3-1 Sunshine State Conference victory over the Fighting Knights.
Lynn University’s volleyball team played its third and final home match of the week on Friday night, ending the stretch on a high note by taking down Embry-Riddle, 3-1. The sides traded blows in the opening two sets before the Fighting Knights closed out the win with a pair of 25-20 victories.
