Cross Country Finishes Seventh at Embry-Riddle Asics Classic

Daytona, Fla.- Lynn University's cross country team placed seventh out of eight teams at the Embry-Riddle Asics Classic on Saturday morning. Sarah Northup paced the Fighting Knights with a seventh place finish out of 84 runners with a 5k time of 20:01.18.

Cydney Schmidt finished 20 places behind her teammate in 27th with a personal best 21.30:23. Missy Montgomery turned in a 24:27.13 for her best time of the season. She finished 62nd place overall and third for the Blue & White. Meadow Noonan finished eight places behind Montgomery with a 25:38.08, just nine seconds off of her best time. Savannah Maier was the final member of Lynn's squad to cross the finish line with a time of 26.19.23.

Ellie Stalker, an alumnus of Embry-Riddle won with race clocking an 18:47.91 while Division I Stetson took the team crown with 32 points. Lynn finished behind Sunshine State Conference opponents Florida Tech (4th) and Rollins (6th).

The Blue & White returns to action on Saturday, October 11, at the Walt Disney Cross Country Invitational in Orlando, Fla.
