Thalie Carmignani made Lynn University history when she was announced as a CoSIDA Track & Field/Cross Country Second Team Academic All-American on Thursday. The former swimmer is the first cross country student-athlete to garner Academic All-America honors and is also the first in school history to garner Academic All-American recognition in two sports.
Greenwood, Ind. – The Lynn University cross country program continues to be recognized for its efforts on the course and in the classroom as Thalie Carmigniani became the second runner in program history to be named CoSIDA Academic All-District, as announced on Thursday, joining Sarah Northup’s honor from 2014-15. This accomplishment recognizes the nation’s top-student athletes for their combined performances on and off the field.

Lynn University’s cross country team put together its best individual performances of the season placing seventh at the Sunshine State Conference Championships hosted by Florida Tech in Melbourne, Fla. on Saturday morning. This race was the first 6K of the season, where every runner who competed for the Blue & White set personal-record times, with the second, sixth and tenth fastest 6K times in program history being ran.
