Jessica Viscusi Named Cross Country/Track Assistant Coach

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University women's cross country and track head coach Chris Wood has announced the hiring of Jessica Viscusi as his assistant coach for both programs.

Viscusi comes to Boca Raton following a solid four-year career at Mars Hill University where she was a standout student-athlete with the cross country and track and field programs. During her time as a Lion, Viscusi was a three-time South Atlantic Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year recipient, a three-time All-South Atlantic Conference honoree for cross country and a two-time NCAA National Championship cross country qualifier.

"Mars Hill has a strong tradition in cross country and track in the southeast region and Jessica's success story only amplifies those traits," said Wood. "She is a bright young woman who was able to go from walk-on runner to NCAA qualifier. Her physical and personal characteristics will be an example to our runners at Lynn."

She ends her career at Mars Hill as the school-record holder in 17 events spanning cross country and track and field.

The Bryson City, N.C., native has accumulated a plethora of U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region honors over the two sports and is a five-time member on the USTFCCA All-Academic Team. Additionally, Viscusi was an AstroTurf SAC Runner of the Week five times during her career and garnered Mars Hill Woman of the Year accolades as a junior and senior for her accomplishments on the field, in the classroom and in the greater Mars Hill community.

Viscusi received a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Mars Hill in 2015 and is currently in her second year in the PharmD program at Nova Southeastern.
