Four Program Records Shattered for Cross Country at FAU Invitational

Boca Raton, Fla. – Lynn University's cross country team broke four program records while placing third in the Division II bracket of the FAU Invitational. The meet was the first for new head coach Chris Wood.  Thalie Carmigniani notched the best finish for the Fighting Knights after placing sixth overall with a time of 21:18.7, the tenth-best time in program history.

  • In her first ever cross country race, Thalie Carmigniani set her place in the school record books when she ran a 21:18.7 5K time.  She finished 20th overall between the Division I and II.
  • Surprise, Ariz., product Natalie Beck was not far behind, as she came in ninth with a 21:47.1 time, good for the 15th best time in Lynn cross country history.
  • Sydney Parks etched herself among the all-time 5K times after running a 22:41.1, finishing 17th.  Her time is the 18th best time in the program's short existence. 
  • Three spots behind her was Courtney Morin, who finished in 20th with a time of 23:16.8, the 21st best time in program history. 
  • Daniela Papadakis ended in 23rd clocking in at 25:09.0 and Meadow Noonan coming in 24th at 25:17.0.


  • This is the second year in a row that the Fighting Knights have competed at the FAU Invitational.
  • The four program records set at the FAU Invite are the most Lynn has broken in a single race in school history.
  • Not only was the invitational the first as a member of the Blue & White for Chris Wood but was also the first for assistant coach Jessica Viscusi.
  • Carmigniani made her debut with the cross country team after finishing a highly-decorated career with the Fighting Knights swimming program.
