Cross Country Named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

New Orleans – The Lynn University cross country team has earned the first-ever team award in program history after being named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team, posting a program GPA of 3.28 during the 2016 fall semester.

"The USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Award is the standard for academic excellence for the sport in DI, DII and DIII. I'm very happy that the team has achieved this honor in my first season as head coach," said head coach Chris Wood.

In order to meet the requirements for the title of USTFCCCA All-Academic teams must have compiled a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and must have scored at an NCAA Division II regional meet.

Lynn was not the lone All-Academic Team from the Sunshine State Conference; Florida Tech (3.41), Florida Southern (3.64), Nova Southeastern (3.41), provisional SSC member Palm Beach Atlantic (3.38), Saint Leo (3.25) and Tampa (3.21) also earned All-Academic honors.
