New Orleans, La. – The Lynn University cross country team has been named a winner of the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's (USTFCCCA) Team All-Academic Award, as recently announced by the association.
The Fighting Knights land the award for the second year in a row and second time in the program's short history, posting a team GPA of 3.54 on a 4.0 scale—more than 0.25 points better than last season's team GPA.
In order to qualify for the award, teams must have a GPA better than 3.0 and must have scored at an NCAA Division II regional meet. Lynn placed 14th at the South Region Championships this season, marking the best finish in program history for the team at the meet.
Six other Sunshine State Conference members joined Lynn on the women's side of the award, including Florida Southern, Nova Southeastern, Florida Tech, Embry-Riddle, Saint Leo and Tampa.
