LAKELAND, Fla. – The 12
th-ranked Lynn University men's tennis team opened the spring season with a hard-fought 4-2 win over Florida Southern, Monday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn dropped two doubles matches, but rebounded with four singles wins to seal the match. The Fighting Knights won the top three singles spots
- Sophomore
Gabriele Felline posted a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles over current Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week Chris Fok Kow.
- Senior
Diego Gonzalez downed Inaki Braun-Simo 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 at No. 2 singles
- Sophomore Gianmarco Amitiste rebounded from an early deficit to take No. 3 singles 2-6, 6-1, 7-5 over Mario Garoz
- Freshman
Yaron Guberman took No. 5 singles in straight sets 6-4, 6-1 over John Gidefjord
- The Fighting Knights dropped all three doubles matches
- Freshman
Raymundo Chavez Baez and Amitiste posted the closest score at No. 2 doubles, losing 6-4 to Braun-Simo and Danny Thomas
