BOCA RATON, Fla. – The 23
rd-ranked Lynn University men's tennis team used a strong showing in singles action to defeat No. 5 West Alabama, Sunday at Perper Tennis Complex. The Fighting Knights improve to 10-4 on the season, while the visiting Tigers stumble to 10-6.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- West Alabama jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead as it won No. 1 and No. 3 doubles
- The Fighting Knights posted wins in the top three singles flights and a rally in the sixth flight to seal the win
- Freshman
Yaron Guberman posted the first singles win when he defeated Nuuti Jokinen in the third flight
- Guberman earned a 6-2 win in the first set and rallied from a 4-1 deficit to earn a 7-5 win in the second
- Guberman is now 10-2 in singles action and has won six-straight matches
- Sophomore
Gabriele Felline picked up a win at No. 2 singles with a 6-2, 7-6 (8-6) win over Marcel Hornung
- Felline is 8-2 in singles and has won his last five matches
- Senior
Diego Gonzalez gave Lynn a 3-1 lead when he defeated Ilari Vesanen in the top singles flight, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2
- Gonzalez pushed his record to 7-4 with three-consecutive wins
- Sophomore
Haktan Garayev clinched the match for the Fighting Knights with an impressive win at No. 6 singles
- He fell behind after losing the first set, 6-1, but rallied with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 to take the win
- Garayev is 6-5 in singles on the season
