BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University men's and women's swimming teams combined for 22 wins as the Fighting Knights opened the home portion of their 2024-25 schedules, Friday. The 18
th-ranked Lynn women defeated the Buccaneers 190.5-49.5, while the men won by a score of 158-103.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Women):
- The 200 medley relay of
Laura Dekoninck,
Lexi Lundell,
Luna Mertins, &
Malaika Schneider opened the meet with first place in 1:47.38
- Mertins,
Luz Tapia and
Mariele De Santis each swam to a pair of individual victories
- Mertins won the 100 butterfly in 56.56 and the 100 backstroke in 58.28
- Tapia touched the first in both the 100 free (52.80) and 200 free (1:55.92)
- De Santis won both the 200 fly (1:32.59) and 200 back (2:04.87)

Julia Delaney posted a win for the 1,000 freestyle in (11:15.94) and placed second in the 500 freestyle (5:28.82)

Ally Webster took home a win in the 200 breaststroke in 2:25.56 and second in the 100 fly in 1:08.37
- Dekoninck won the 50 free (24.09) and was runner-up in the 100 free (52.89)

Nella Briceno took first in the 500 freestyle at 5:23.46

Alexis Mihok posted two second-place finishes in the 100 backstroke (1:01.81) and 200 backstroke (2:22.69)

- Lundell added second place in the 50 free (24.51) and 200 breaststroke (2:26.04)

HOW IT HAPPENED (Men):
- The 200 medley relay of

Max Tsyfarov,
Vitaly Kostin, and
Maurice Grabowski secured first with a time of 1:32.92
- Tsyfarov posted wins in the 100 (47.39) and 200 freestyles (1:43.78)
- Geisner posted wins in the 100 backstroke in 52.05 and 200 backstroke (1:52.97)

Ryan Zasas earned wins in the 100 breaststroke (56.82) and 200 breaststroke (2:06.68)
- Kostin won both the 100 (49.51) and 200 (1:52.05) butterfly
- Grabowski won the 50 freestyle in 21.29
