LAKELAND, Fla. – Sophomore
Yaron Guberman won both his doubles and singles matches as the Lynn University men's tennis team lost to No. 13 Embry-Riddle in the opening round of the 2024 SSC Tournament, Friday. Lynn settles at 9-6 overall and awaits for a possible berth in the NCAA Tournament.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Guberman and junior
Haktan Garayev won their top flight doubles match, 6-1, over the 24
th-ranked team of Michele Iftimie and Joshua Nuyts
- It was their third win this spring in the top flight
- The Eagles won the other two doubles matches to earn the first point of the match
- Guberman defeated Nuyts 6-1, 6-2 in No. 2 singles
- He is now 11-1 on the season in singles and the win is his first in the second flight
- Graduate
Jonathan Olive-Blanco posted the other singles win with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Fernando Alonso in the fourth flight
- He has eight singles wins, including five in the fourth flight
- Junior
Gabriele Felline played a close match at No. 1 singles with 35
th-ranked Safar Rasulov, but lost 7-5, 6-2
