BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn women and men's swimming each defeated Barry but lost to Tampa in a double-dual meet on Saturday.

Luz Tapia won the 100 and 200 free and Luna Mertins took first in the 100 butterfly as the women defeated Barry 169-29 but fell to Tampa 145-60.

Vitaly Kostin placed second in the 100 back and 200 free for the men, who triumphed over Barry 142-58 but were bested by Tampa 158-46.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Women:
- Laura Dekoninck, Malaika Schneider, Luna Mertins and Lexi Lundell placed second n the 200 yard medley relay in 1:44.81
- Luz Tapia won the 200 free in 1:51.78 and later won the 100 free in 52.51
- Mertins won the 100 butterfly in 56.25 and took fourth place in the 200 free in 1:58.96
- Schneider placed third in the 100 free in 53.33 and fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.56)
- Dekoninck swam the 50 free in 24.43 for a second place finish and added fourth place finish in the 100 backstroke (1:00.31)
- Mariele De Santis took third in the 400 yard IM with a time of 4:31.23 and fourth in the 500 free in 5:12.75
- Shachaf Bachar placed fourth in the 1000 free in 11:35.89
- Lydia Douthit swam the 100 butterfly in 57.55 for fourth place
- Tapia, Lexi Lundell, Katie Laferriere and Lily Drons swam the 200 free relay in 1:38.08 for fourth place

Men:
- Paul Melcer, Kamil Piotrowicz, Vitaly Kostin and Maurice Grabowski swam the 200 yard medley in 1:31.42 for a second place result
- Kostin took second in the 200 free with a time of 1:38.01
- Kostin (50.84) and Melcer (51.02) placed second and third in the 100 backstroke
- Max Tsyfarov finished in second in the 100 butterfly (49.71) and fourth in the 100 breaststroke (56.43)
- Eli Spivak (4:47.31) and Kamil Geisner (4:47.41) took third and fourth in the 500 free
- Andrew Schmidt swam the 1000 free in 10:24.17 for a fourth place finish
- Chase Gagnon finished in fourth in the 400 IM with a time of 4:29.35
- Grabowski's 47.19 time in the 100 free was good for fourth place
- Tsyfarov, Jack Budd, Spencer Hobbs and Cole Faikish took fourth in the 200 free relay (1:25.46)
