ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.- The Lynn men's tennis team kicked off its Sunshine State Conference portion of its schedule on Sunday with a 4-3 victory over Eckerd on the road. The Fighting Knights are now 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the league.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lennart Ostheimer and Davide Cortimiglia picked up the only doubles win for the Fighting Knights, downing Batu Ataseven and Mario Kirkov in the first flight.
- The duo improved to 2-2 on the year in the No. 1 spot.
- Santino Morel picked up the first singles win for the Fighting Knights in the second flight, defeating Mario Kirkov, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.
- Morel improved to 1-1 in the second spot while picking up his first solo win of the year.
- Ostheimer downed Marshall Hulett in the third flight, 6-4, 7-5.
- Ostheimer is now 2-1 in the number-three spot while he is 3-1 in singles competition.
- Daniel Azar made quick work of Eric Asakura in the fourth flight with a 6-3, 6-1 victory.
- Azar improved to a perfect 2-0 at the No. 4.
- Cortimiglia wrapped up the contest for a hard-fought Lynn victory, defeating Lukas Palla quickly in the fifth spot, 6-2, 6-3.
- Cortimiglia claimed his first true singles win in a Blue and White uniform on Sunday, claiming victory for Lynn.
