TAMPA, Fla. – The Lynn University swimming programs faced a challenging test on Saturday morning, competing against nationally ranked Tampa and Wingate in a tri-meet at the UT Pool. The Fighting Knights men dropped decisions to Tampa (186–76) and Wingate (154.5–107.5), while the women fell to Tampa (191.5–69.5) and Wingate (143–118), turning in several strong individual performances against elite competition.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Women):
- Lynn opened the meet with a solid showing in the 200-yard medley relay, as the quartet of
Ala Piascinska,
Malaika Schneider,
Lydia Douthit, and
Lily Drons finished third with a time of 1:44.25

Eva Stacey led the distance group, placing fifth in the 1000 freestyle (10:26.46) and later adding a runner-up finish in the 500 freestyle with a B-cut time of 5:04.43

Luz Tapia stood out in the 200-yard freestyle placing second (1:52.68)

Mariele De Santis turned in one of the top performances of the meet for Lynn, capturing first place in the 200 backstroke (2:02.72) and finishing second in the 200 butterfly with a B-cut time of 2:03.75
- The Fighting Knights posted multiple top three finishes in the 100 butterfly with Douthit touching in at 56.19 and
Ciara Twomey close behind at 56.73
- Lynn closed the meet with competitive swims in the 200-yard freestyle relay with Schneider, Zavalaga, Drons, and Tapia placing fourth (1:36.14), just .06 of a second away from placing third
HOW IT HAPPENED (Men):
- Lynn started the meet on a high note in the 200-yard medley relay as
Maurice Grabowski,
Max Tsyfarov,
Vitaly Kostin, and
Enzo Constable placed second overall with a time of 1:28.11
- Grabowski was runner-up in the 50 freestyle with a B-cut touch time of 20.34
- Kostin won the 200 freestyle with a B-cut time of 1:38.45 and placed second in the 200 butterfly with a B-cut time of 1:49.83
- Tsyfarov claimed first place in the 100 breaststroke touching the wall with a B-cut time of 54.89, while also adding a third-place finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:02.48)
- Lynn's backstroke group remained competitive, with
Paul Melcer posting a top five finish in the 100 back with a B-cut time 49.94, and
Kamil Geisner placing fourth (1:50.77) in the 200 back
- Constable delivered a second-place effort in the 100 freestyle with a time of 45.44, narrowly missing the top spot that was 45.42
