BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University swimming programs delivered a dominant performance on Saturday afternoon, sweeping both the men's and women's competitions against Florida Tech. The Fighting Knights women earned a decisive 199–62 victory, while the men followed with a strong 162–100 win.
The afternoon also included a special recognition for graduate
Luna Mertins, who was presented with her national championship ring after capturing two NCAA Division II National Championships in the 100 butterfly and 100 freestyle, setting Division II records in both events.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Women):

Luz Tapia led the sprint and distance groups with victories in the 200 freestyle with a B-cut time of 1:53.04, 50 freestyle (24.08), and 500 freestyle (5:11.54)

Lydia Douthit turned in an impressive double, winning the 200 butterfly with a B-cut time of 2:03.04 and later capturing first in the 100 butterfly (56.46)

Mariele De Santis anchored the backstroke and IM events, winning the 200 backstroke (2:07.19) and the 400 IM (4:30.30)
- Schneider claimed first place in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.49
- The women closed the meet on a high note as Tapia, Zavalaga, Schneider, and
Lily Drons won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:36.81
HOW IT HAPPENED (Men):
- Kostin captured victories in both the 200 freestyle (1:41.30) and 500 freestyle (4:36.71)
- Tsyfarov swept the breaststroke events, winning the 100 breaststroke (56.82) and the 200 breaststroke (2:08.54)

Paul Melcer took first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 51.15
- Constable powered to wins in the 50-yard freestyle (20.71) and 100-yard butterfly (49.25)
- The Lynn men's team sealed the meet with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay as Kostin,
Spencer Hobbs, Constable, and Grabowski touched first in 1:22.37
