BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University men's and women's swimming teams closed out senior day in dominant fashion, sweeping Florida Southern for the last Sunshine State Conference dual meet on Saturday morning. The Fighting Knight women earned a decisive 197.5–57.5 victory, while the Lynn men edged the Mocs 135–127 in a tightly contested finish.
Prior to the meet, Lynn honored eight seniors competing in their final home dual meet:
Jack Budd,
Spencer Hobbs,
Maurice Grabowski,
Paul Melcer and
Vitaly Kostin on the men's side, along with
Malaika Schneider,
Jade Chamblee and
Zoey Delaney for the women.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Women):
- The Fighting Knights won 11 of 14 individual events and swept both relays to cruise to the team victory
- Schneider delivered a strong senior day performance, winning the 100 freestyle (53.33) and tying for first in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.42)
- Tapia captured victories in both the 200 freestyle (1:55.21) and 500 freestyle (5:13.36)

Krystina Zavalaga earned wins in the 50 freestyle (24.83) and tied for first place in the 100 freestyle (53.33)
- Douthit swept the butterfly events, winning the 200 butterfly (2:04.14) and 100 butterfly (56.55)

Mariele De Santis claimed three individual wins, touching first in the 200 backstroke (2:05.35), 200 IM (2:08.34), and finishing runner-up in the 200 butterfly
- Delaney competed in multiple events, highlighted by a fifth-place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:16.03)

Ally Webster won the 200 breaststroke (2:25.93) and placed second in the 200 IM
- Piascinska added a win in the 100 backstroke (59.21)
- The women closed the meet with a victory in the 400 freestyle relay, with Tapia, Schneider,
Krystina Zavalaga and
Lily Drons posting a time of 3:33.75
HOW IT HAPPENED (Men):
- The Fighting Knights won seven events and posted multiple key top-three finishes to secure the narrow team win
- Kostin anchored the men's effort, winning three individual events: the 200 freestyle (1:41.59), 200 butterfly (1:49.82), and 100 butterfly (48.79)

Paul Melcer earned a win in the 100 backstroke (50.97) and added a fourth-place finish in the 200 backstroke
- Grabowski placed second in the 50 freestyle (21.11) and fourth in the 100 freestyle
- Hobbs finished third in the 50 freestyle (21.04) and fifth in the 100 freestyle
- Budd contributed in relay action and added a top-eight finish in the 200 freestyle
- Tsyfarov won the 200 IM (1:53.88) and placed second in the 100 breaststroke (56.92)

Kamil Geisner captured victories in the 200 backstroke (1:55.90) and finished runner-up in the 200 butterfly
- The Lynn men sealed the meet with a second-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay, as Kostin, Hobbs, Constable and Grabowski touched in 3:01.80
