Betts leads Lynn sprints with pair of personal-best performances ahead of SSC Championship

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Lynn University women's track team closed out its final tune-up before the postseason with a strong showing in the sprints, highlighted by junior Tamryn Betts, who recorded personal-best times in both the 200m and 400m to lead the Fighting Knights. Betts placed fourth in the 200m (25.77) and added a runner-up finish in the 400m (59.50), while Emma Smith contributed a sixth-place finish in the 400m to round out a productive day for the Blue and White just one week ahead of the Sunshine State Conference Championship.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
200m
- Tamryn Betts represented Lynn in the top section of the 200m, competing against a fast, Lake-Sumter-heavy field
- Betts turned in a strong performance, clocking a personal-best 25.77 to finish fourth overall in the event
 
400m
- Lynn placed two sprinters in the final heat, with Tamryn Betts and Emma Smith representing the Fighting Knights in a strong field
- Betts delivered a standout personal-best performance, breaking the one-minute mark with a 59.50 to finish second overall and lead the Blue and White
- Smith followed with a solid effort of 1:00.91, placing sixth and giving Lynn two top-six finishes in the event

The Lynn track team now turns its focus to the postseason, with the Sunshine State Conference Championship set for April 24–25 just one week away.
