BOCA RATON, Fla. - The No. 5 seed and No. 24-ranked Lynn University men's tennis team upset No. 4 seed and No. 10-ranked Florida Southern, 4-3, in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Sunshine State Conference Tournament on Thursday afternoon at the Perper Tennis Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Florida Southern opened the match by claiming the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3

Santino Morel fell, 6-2, in the second flight

Lennart Ostheimer dropped their match at No. 3 doubles, 6-3

Davide Cortimiglia and
Louay Makke were trailing 4-3 at No. 1 doubles when the point was clinched
- Lynn responded in singles play, winning four of the six courts
- Alves delivered a straight-set win at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-2
- Makke followed with a 6-3, 7-5 victory at No. 1 singles
- Florida Southern picked up wins at No. 5 and No. 4 singles to keep the match tight
- Cortimiglia earned a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles to tie the match at 3-3

Aymen Alimoussa clinched the match at No. 3 singles, rallying from a set down to win 2-6, 6-3, 6-3
