BOCA RATON, Fla. - The fifth-seeded Lynn University men's tennis team fell to No. 2 Saint Leo, 4-0, in the third-place match of the 2026 Sunshine State Conference Tournament on Saturday morning at the Perper Tennis Complex.
Lynn closes the tournament with a 12-11 overall record.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Saint Leo opened the match by claiming the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 1 doubles
- In singles play, Alves fell, 6-1, 6-0, in the second flight
- Ostheimer dropped his match in the fourth flight, 6-1, 6-4
- Makke was leading his match in the first flight, 7-5, 2-1, when the Lions clinched the match
- Morel was also ahead at No. 5 singles, 6-2, 0-4, before the match went unfinished
- Cortimiglia took the opening set at No. 6 singles, 7-6, and was trailing 3-1 in the second when play was halted
