Seniors Shine in Men’s Basketball Loss at Rollins

WINTER PARK, Fla.- Lynn University's men's fell to Rollins in a Sunshine State Conference game Saturday afternoon, 80-63. The Knights move to 9-6 overall, 2-4 in the SSC while Rollins remains undefeated at 5-0 in conference play. Seniors Jeremy Lampkin led the Knights offense in the loss.

Lynn's Kaleb Clyburn fired a trey in the opening seconds of the game to give the Knights their only lead of the game. Rollins answered back with a shot from well behind the arc en route to take off on a 11-0 run. Rollins took its largest lead of eight with 16:45 to play. At halftime the Tars held a 36-31 advantage over the Blue and White.

Jeremy Lampkin led all scorers in the half with 10 points. LU shot an impressive 57.1% from the field, while connecting on all six of their free throws. The Knights pulled down 13 boards while Rollins shot 48% from the field and pulled down nine rebounds.

LU was unable to keep it close as the Tars started the second half on a 21-8 run. It was an aggressive second half in the Warden Arena after a Rollins player dove for a loose ball into the Lynn bench, ending in a technical foul after a sideline scuffle. Lynn was unable hold on while the home team set sail for a 17-point victory.

Lampkin and fellow senior Slobodan Miljanic led the Knights with 14 points a piece and Kevin Ohen tallied 10. Lynn shot 47.8% from the field in the second half while the Tars improved to 58.3% in the final half.

Overall the Knights shot 52.3% from the field and pulled down 24 rebounds. Rollins totaled 15 three-point shots in the victory and was led by Adam Allen, who scored a game-high 19 points.

The Blue and White will travel to Palm Beach Atlantic for their second non-conference showdown with the Sailfish this season. Last time they met was November 14 when LU fell 72-71 at home.
