Steve LeBrun was born and raised in South Florida and attended John I Leonard High School in Lake Worth, Florida from 1992-1996. He then went to Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida from 1996-2000 and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in communications. LeBrun played on the men’s golf team all four years and helped lead the team to two team victories. He also brought home four individual titles in his four years and was ranked 21st in the country his senior year. In 2008, he became the first and only male golfer to be inducted into the FAU Athletics Hall of Fame.
LeBrun guided the Fighting Knights to the most successful season of his tenure in 2025-26, leading Lynn to a No. 35 national ranking and No. 8 ranking in the South Region while posting a 289.9 adjusted scoring average. The Fighting Knights captured the National Preview title to open the fall and added runner-up finishes at the Sunshine State Conference Championship and Saint Leo Invitational. Lynn qualified for the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Regional for the first time under LeBrun, finishing 18th nationally, while Simon Roessler earned All-Sunshine State Conference First Team and All-Tournament Team honors after placing fourth at the SSC Championship. Andres Asin added Third Team All-SSC recognition with a ninth-place finish at the conference championship, helping Lynn post its highest conference finish under LeBrun with a runner-up showing.
LeBrun competed on the PGA Tour, Korn Ferry Tour and numerous mini tours in a professional golf career that has spanned over 22 years. He has accumulated 90 plus mini tour wins, along with five top-25 finishes on the PGA Tour and 13 top-10 finishes on the Korn Ferry Tour. Injuries along with wanting to spend more time at home with his wife and three daughters, has led LeBrun on a teaching and coaching path. He coached the Cardinal Newman Girls High School team in 2022 to a 9-2 record and a fourth place finish at districts. Mid-2022, he took a golf instruction job at GOLFTEC to improve his teaching and knowledge of the golf swing.
With LeBrun's impressive playing background and now his improved knowledge of the golf swing and coaching, he is sure to help the Lynn men’s golf team this year and into the future.
