Clara Perez joined Lynn University as the graduate assistant women’s tennis coach in July 2015. Perez will be primarily responsible for on court coaching and team transportation. Other key duties will include weight training, stretching and conditioning, reviewing academic process as well as implementing the head coach’s philosophy and player development.

A 2015 graduate of Armstrong State University where she led ASU to four-straight NCAA Division II national finals appearances, Perez capped off an impressive career with the Pirates when she helped them to an undefeated record en route to winning the program’s ninth national championship, and third in four years. Armstrong State also claimed NCAA D2 titles in 2012 and 2013 and finished as the national runner-up in 2014. She ranked as high as No. 3 in the nation for singles during her senior season and was part of the top-ranked doubles team in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Poll.

Perez is one of the most decorated women’s tennis players in ASU history. She was a three-time national champion, four-time ITA All-America selection, ITA Southeast Rookie of the Year (2012), ITA Southeast Senior of the Year (2015), four-time Peach Belt Conference Regular Season and Tournament Champion and leaves her mark on the Armstrong State record books ranking top-5 and top-10 in most singles wins and doubles wins, respectively.

The Madrid, Spain, native was not only successful on the tennis court, but in the classroom as well. She was on the ASU Dean’s List all four years and the Student Honor Roll in 2012 and 2013. Perez graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in General Economics and will begin pursuing an MBA at Lynn this fall.
