Kathy Kroupa served as the interim athletic director for seven months before being named permanently to the post in December 2023. Prior to that, Kroupa served two years as the Deputy athletic director and SWA. Kroupa brings 30 years of experience as a student-athlete, coach and administrator.
Under Kroupa’s leadership as Athletic Director, the Fighting Knights have captured four Sunshine State Conference Championships, NCAA South Regional Championships in Women’s Golf, Men’s Soccer and Volleyball, a NCAA Division II National Championship in the 200 medley relay for Women’s Swimming and most recently, NCAA Division II National Championships in Men’s Soccer and Volleyball. The Fighting Knights have achieved over a 3.4 cumulative GPA in the classroom the past two years.
Several Fighting Knights programs have also achieved programs firsts in 2024 including the Women’s Lacrosse program receiving their first bid to the NCAA Championship, Men’s Swimming scoring points at the NCAA Championship and had their first ever All-American, and Men’s Track earned two individual spots at the NCAA Championship and had their first ever All-American.
Kroupa is involved in several committees and boards with the NCAA and other organizations. She is currently a member of the NCAA Division II women’s soccer committee, the NCAA Division II nominating committee, is on the Division II Athletic Directors Association Board and is the Chair of the Board of Directors for Chi Alpha Sigma, the national athlete honor society.
Prior to Lynn, Kroupa spent six years as the senior associate athletic director and SWA at The Citadel in Charleston, SC. While there she served on the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Council, the Presidential Task Force for Diversity and Inclusion, the Enrollment Management Council and the Leadership Development Council. Before The Citadel, Kroupa served as assistant athletic director, SWA and head softball coach at Susquehanna University. Kroupa began her tenure as a head softball coach in 2002 and, in 13 seasons, led the Crusaders to a 360-251-1 record that included the program's first Landmark Conference title in 2013. Kroupa and her staff were named Landmark Conference Coaching Staff of the Year six times, including four straight from 2012 to 2015. A native of Weston, Connecticut, Kroupa is a member of the Gettysburg College Hall of Honor, where she was a four-year letter winner in women's soccer and softball. She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Gettysburg, completed her master's degree in counseling psychology from Radford University and completed a graduate certificate in student affairs at The Citadel.
