St. Petersburg, Fla. – Four first half goals carried Lynn University's men's soccer team to a 4-2 victory over Eckerd College on Saturday night. Stefan Wolf notched his first multi-goal game while Kyle Conrad added a goal and assist. The Fighting Knights improve to 7-3 overall and 2-1 in Sunshine State Conference play.
A senior from Jensen Beach, Fla, Conrad opened up the scoring in the 13th minute with his team-leading eighth-goal of the year. Taking in a pass from Ewan Clarke, Conrad beat his defender and laid his shot into the left corner for the score.
Less than two minutes later LU struck again, this time from Scott McCubbin. Getting a perfect through ball from Robert Carrick, thegraduate from Buckinghamshire, England made a nice run down the right side and ripped a shot past Toni Virtanen for the 2-0 lead.
It was the 23rd minute when the Blue & White found the back of the net again. Conrad raced down the right sideline and sent in a perfect cross to Wolf, who laid in his shot past the keeper for a goal.
Conrad's three points gives him a team-best 18 points, eight shy of becoming the fourth player in program history with 100 for his career.
George Marchant made it 3-1 when he scored off a deflection but Wolfanswered almost immediately when he stole the ball from the Tritons' defense and beat Virtanen for his third goal of the season.
Only a goal by Anthony Arico spoiled the Knight's second half.
