Box Score

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University's 15th-ranked men's soccer team fell 2-0 to Saint Leo on Tuesday afternoon.  Alessandro Salvatore made three saves as the Fighting Knights drop to 7-4 overall and 2-2 in the Sunshine State Conference.

A scoreless game was broken in the 60th minute of play when a shot by Saint Leo's Edgar Herrera was deflected off a LU defender and redirected into the right side netting to give the Lions a 1-0 lead.

Lynn had a chance to square the game at one minutes later when a long pass got past the SLU defense.  Stefan Wolf got to the ball moments before keeper Jake Hirst could get a hand on it and flicked a shot over Hirst's head but Cody Allen cleared the attempt off the goal line to preserve the lead.

Saint Leo (8-3, 2-3 SSC) then added an insurance goal at 71:35 when a breakdown in the Knights' defense allowed Sebastian Bosch tobreak free inside the box on the right side.  He juked one defender then slipped a shot past a diving Salvatore.

Lynn outshot Saint Leo 18-13 as Hirst managed seven stops and the Lions' defense making one big save.

The Fighting Knights return to action on Thursday, at 3 p.m. when they host Palm Beach Atlantic.  Fans can follow the action live by logging on to www.LynnFightingKnights.com and selecting "Game Day Central."
