Box Score

Lakeland, Fla. – Lynn University's volleyball team was downed 11-25, 17-25, 25-16, 19-25 in a four-set match to Florida Southern on Saturday afternoon.  The loss drops the Fighting Knights record to 7-3 overall and 1-1 in the Sunshine State Conference.

Haley Pratt and Sophie Gagnon tallied 10 kills apiece while Pratt hit at a .409 clip.  Lacy Redwine led the defensive effort with 20 digs and Mallory Deneen chipped in 11 digs.

Lynn had trouble with Florida Southern (9-1, 2-0 SSC) for much of the first two sets before finally breaking through in the third.  Hitting .355 as a team, the Blue & White had 12 kills to just one error and held the Mocs to a .118 hitting clip.  The two teams were close at the start but LU pulled away with a pair of 6-1 runs.

The Knights looked as though they would force a fifth game after getting ahead 6-5 with kills by Chelsea Semprini.  Florida Southern, though, battled back with a 7-0 run in the middle of the action to go up for good.

Lynn returns to action Tuesday, September 21, at 7 p.m. when it faces rival Barry in Miami Shores, Fla.  Fans can follow the action live by logging on to www.LynnFightingKnights.com and selecting the "Game Central" icon.
