Saint Leo, Fla. - Lynn University's men's basketball team fell to Saint Leo University, 80-65, Sunday afternoon at the Lions' Bowman Center. The Fighting Knights fall to 2-9 overall and 0-2 in the Sunshine State Conference while SLU improves to 9-2 and 1-1 in the SSC.
Jimmy Gaskins led the Fighting Knights with 13 points to go with seven rebounds while Cameron McCallum pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds (nine offensive) to go with eight points. Josh Garcia also scored 12 points while Jovan Robinson and Chris Watson had ten apiece.
Poor shooting (32.4%) doomed the Fighting Knights throughoutthe game while the Lions shot well from the floor at 45.6% with nine threes.
Lynn held its own for most of the first half before a cold spell helped Saint Leo pull away late in the opening stanza. The Lions shot 55.2% from the field in the opening half, which included seven three-pointers.
LU is back in action on Wednesday, January 5, when they travel to local rival Palm Beach Atlantic for a 7:30 pm tip.
