West Palm Beach, Fla. – Lynn University's men's basketball team fell to Palm Beach Atlantic, 77-72, Wednesday night at PBA's Rubin Arena. LU falls to 2-10 overall and has lost six straight games.
Jovan Robinson led the Fighting Knights with 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting while Cameron McCallum recorded 14 points and nine rebounds. Jimmy Gaskins added 12 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double.
The Blue & White outshot the Sailfish 46.7% to 44.6% but Lynn shot 7-of-18 from the free throw line on the night.
After playing even for the first several minutes of the game, Lynn, behind threes by Garcia and Pascal Schuler, went on an 11-3 run to take a 24-17 lead with 8:28 to go. That was shortly lived, however, as PBA's Terrell Terry scored ten of the game's next 11 points to give the Sailfish a 30-25 lead.
A last second three by Jovan Robinson cut PBA's lead to one as the Sailfish went into the break with a 34-33 lead.
Lynn got out to an early four-point lead early in the second half but a gritty PBA team quickly tied it up and took a five-point lead with 7:30 remaining.
A three by Garcia and jumpers by Gaskins and McCallum helped Lynn tie the score at 66 with 3:36 left but a three by PBA's David Wood thirty seconds later was the dagger. Chris Hall hit a trey with 45 seconds left cutting the lead to 73-69 but the Knights were unable to get any closer.
