Box Score BOCA RATON, Fla.—With an overtime loss and a four-point defeat this past week, Lynn University's men's basketball team moved to 2-3 on the season and now turn their focus to the Flagler Saints and the conference opener against Tampa.
The Blue & White first battled cross-town foe Palm Beach Atlantic in a contest that needed overtime to decide a winner. Lynn fell to the Sailfish 79-71 for its second overtime loss of the season.
Michel Vidal posted his first double-double of the year with 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. The senior tallied a 5 of 9 shooting mark from the field and three assists on 35 minutes played. Freshman point guard Jerrell Oxendine amassed a career mark with 17 points in the loss.
After the Thanksgiving holiday, the Knights faced the Pfeiffer Falcons and posted a 69-64 loss. Josh Garcia led all scorers with 22 while Brandon Smith and Bo Jukic tallied 10 each. Vidal collected a game-high 13 rebounds and added four points.
On the week, Vidal averaged 12 rebounds, 8.5 points, and 4.5 assists per game to go along with six blocks, and three total steals.
On Tuesday, November 29, Lynn plays 5-1 Flagler. The Saints high-powered offense averages over 80 PPG while holding opponents to just over 70 points per contest.
Freshman guard Matt Clark leads the Saints with 15.3 PPG while shooting .544 from the floor and .486 from behind the arc. The St. Augustine High standout has connected on 17 of a team-high 35 3-point attempts.
Defensively, 6-foot-9 center Chad July averages 12.3 rebounds per game and has six total blocks to go along with 13.7 PPG.
Ante Gospic and Jarrod Branco also average double-digit scoring per contest with Addison Smith tallying 6.5 assists per game and a 1.66 assist to turnover ratio.
Flagler is shooting almost .500 from the floor as a team and three pointers at a .392 team clip.
After the Saints of Flagler, the Fighting Knights ready themselves for the Sunshine State Conference opener versus Tampa.
Tampa received the number eight ranking in the conference preseason poll and currently sits at 2-3 on the season.
Ashton Graham represents one of the few returners for the Spartans and paces Tampa with 11.8 points per game and 6.4 boards per contest.
