Winter Park, Fla.—Lynn University's volleyball team could not break out of its recent slump, falling in straight sets to Rollins in a Sunshine State Conference match-up. The Fighting Knights drop to 10-7 overall and 2-5 in SSC play while Rollins improves to 11-8 and 5-3 in the SSC. Elyse Fleck led the offense with eight kills and two blocks, Abbey Brokop had a team-high 25 assists and Nikki Haben added 11 digs.  

The Fighting Knights would set the tone early but could not maintain the lead falling 25-21 in the opening set. After scoring the first point of the match and later leading 3-1, Shannon Dugan sparked a 6-0 run, recording a solo block to win back the serve before scoring back-to-back service aces. Rollins would slowly claw its way back using a five-point spree to grab a 14-13 advantage.  Rollins would not trail the rest of the way.

The Tars took the momentum into the second set taking it 25-15 and sealed the deal in the third set with a 25-20 victory. Lynn kept the third set close for the early phase before multiple errors gave Rollins the six-point lead it would need.  The Fighting Knights would bring the lead down to two but the Tars would respond. Dugan and Fleck both logged four kills in the set while Fleck recorded a solo block for the Fighting Knights final point. Haben, playing libero, had nine assists and Brokop put forth 11 assists.
