LAKELAND, Fla. – The Lynn University's men's soccer team defeated Florida Southern 3-0 in Saturday night's Sunshine State Conference matchup marking a four game win streak.  Chris Hellmann and Yannick Braeuer each score their fourth goal of the season improving the Blue and White to 8-4-1,5-1 SSC.

Shots came early and often for LU outshooting the Moccasins (4-8-,2-4 SSC) 23-5 and allowing the Fighting Knights to maintain possession of the ball for much of the game. Hellmann lead the attack through seven goes on goal with help from Michael O'Neill taking four shots and Simon Gubish with three attempts.

Lynn's was finally able to put a score on the board in the 54th minute of play.  Hellmann sent a long pass down the right wing to Braeuer. With an open look Braeuer curled the ball into the top right corner of the goal from twenty yards out giving goalkeeper Cole Clingerman no chance.

Several more chances were seen by the Blue & White but it wasn't till the 70th minute of play when Isaac Hamui found Hellmann open on the right side. Hellmann bent the ball into the far post on a left footed finish giving the Fighting Knights a 2-0 lead.

A third and final goal would be added by Hellmann in the closing minutes of the game when Clingerman came out of the box. A ball played through the defense allowed Hellman to dribbled around the keeper with an open goal putting the finishing touches on the match and ending the game 3-0.

Kevin Shields had two saves in the match while Clingerman was forced to stop seven attempts. Florida Southern held a 11-7 advantage in corner kicks but could not manage a goal.
