Saint Leo, Fla. – Lynn University's men's soccer team once again held a significant advantage on the stat sheet but lost 1-0 to 10th-ranked Saint Leo on Tuesday night.  The Fighting Knights defense held the Lions without a shot for the entire second half and allowed just two shots on frame all match.  Lynn drops to 4-4-1 overall and 1-1-0 in the Sunshine State Conference.

The Blue & White were not intimidated by the Lions and maintained possession for much of the opening period.  Pinging the ball around the field, LU's Chris Klarner was able to attempt two quick shots over a two minute span, forcing SLU keeper Manuel Schoenhuber to make a diving stop.

Saint Leo (7-1-0, 1-0-0 SSC) could not move past the Fighting Knights' defense until just into the 42nd minute.  A bad pass in the midfield was intercepted by Josh Davis and the Lions' midfielder moved down the right wing before being forced to face the goal.  Davis took one step and fired a shot which bounced off the inside portion of the left post and into net for the deciding goal.

Lynn increased its pressure in the second half considerably while maintaining its defensive dominance.  Saint Leo played on its heels for nearly all 45 minutes with Jack Winter and Jake Furman getting looks on goal only to be stopped by Schoenhuber.

Overall, LU out shot Saint Leo 16-5 and was all square in corner kicks 3-3.  Schooenhuber stopped five shots while Kevin Shields made one save.
