Women's Basketball Falls to No. 4 Nova

BOCA RATON, Fla.-Lynn University's women's basketball team fell to the fouth-ranked Nova Southeastern 84-53 on Wednesday evening at the de Hoernle Sports & Cultural Center. Freshman Nina Guillaume notched 13 points while Sharneka McCatty chipped in 12 points and five rebounds in the defeat.

The Fighting Knights (8-4, 1-1 SSC) stood strong to the 4th ranked team in the nation in the opening period. The Blue and White played outstanding defense, forcing 11 turnovers while shooting 100 percent from the free throw line. LU outshot the Sharks (11-0, 3-0 SSC) 46.2 percent to Nova's 45.2 percent from the field. Tylar Tracy led the offense for Lynn, scoring nine points while McCatty added an additional seven points.

Lynn was unable to shut down the dangerous three-point game by Nova, allowing The Sharks to pull away with a significant lead in the early minutes of the second half. Although The Fighting Knights never gave up, they were could not contain The Sharks who shot 72.7 percent from beyond the arc and 70 percent from the field in the second half.
