Box Score West Palm Beach, Fla. – Lynn University ended their eight match road stretch with a 3-0 loss to Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday evening. With the loss Lynn drops to 10-9 on the season.
Lydia West led the offense with 10 kills and five total blocks. Liga Strautniece had eight kills while Claire Angelich posted seven kills and a .500 hitting percentage.
Marissa Tandron dished out 30 asssists with 10 digs for her third double-double of the season. Nikki Haben and Katie Knight also had double digit digs with 13 apiece.
Lynn started the evening with an Angelich kill, followed by a service ace from Nicol Colonna to take a two point lead. The Fighting Knights created a two point lead again at 13-11 after a pair of errors from the Sailfish, but the Sailfish (24-1) responded with four-straight to take the lead. Facing set point Lynn tried to rally with a block from Elyse Fleck and West followed by a service ace from Lizzy Raffa to make the score 24-21, but the home team scored the following point to take the first set.
With the momentum from the previous game the Sailfish were able to take the early advantage. Trailing 18-13, the Fighting Knights went on a 5-0 run to knot up the score. The two squads exchanged the next 10 points before two Fighting Knight's errors ended the frame.
In the finale Lynn was held to a .030 hitting percentage with only eight kills. With a tied score of 2-2 Palm Beach Atlantic scored three-straight points to create a lead they would hold for the rest of the contest.
