Box Score BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University had a rough outing at home on Saturday afternoon, falling to Saint Leo 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-23). With the loss Lynn drops to 10-11 overall and 3-7 in Sunshine State Conference Play.
Elyse Fleck returned to her old ways, colleting 12 kills for her 13th match with double-digit kills this season. Claire Angelich also had a solid performance with nine kills on a .562 clip.
Marissa Tandron posted her third-straight double-double with 33 assists and 14 digs, both team-highs. Along with leading those categories the sophomore also had a team-high three blocks.
The afternoon began with back-to-back kills from
Nicol Colonna and Angelich. Early in the action Saint Leo (17-4, 6-4 SSC) had a 4-0 run to take the lead;
Lydia West provided a kill to tie the score at 7-7, but the lions scored the following three points to create a lead they held for the remainder of the set.
For the second-straight set Lynn scored the opening two points, but the lead only held till 4-4. The Fighting Knights managed to knot the score seven times, but never took the lead. Offensively it was the best stanza for the home team as they had 17 kills on a .275 hitting percentage.
In the finale the Blue & White fought hard, but only managed a lead for one point. Late in the action, Lynn managed to knot the score at 22-22, and again at 23 all before a pair of Lion's points ended the contest.
