Winter Park, Fla. – Lynn University's volleyball team lost a hard-fought battle with Rollins 3-1 (25-23, 25-18, 24-26, 25-22) despite outhitting their opposition .197 to .193. With the loss Lynn drops to 6-7 overall and 2-4 in the Sunshine State Conference.

Lydia West was able to match her career-high with 11 kills in the contest. Marissa Tandron had 41 assists and 10 digs for her second double-double of the season. 

The Fighting Knights fell behind early 9-2, but fought back to bring the game within one at 12-11. Lynn was able to knot up the score at 22-22 before surrendering three of the next four points.

In the second stanza Lynn and Rollins were tied through the first 18 points but The Tars went on a 3-0 run to create a lead they would hold for the remainder of the set. 

Despite scoring the first three points of the third game Lynn found themselves playing from behind for the majority of the set. Trailing 15-11 the Blue & White scored three-straight points to bring the contest within one, but the Tars responded with a 3-0 run of their own to force a Lynn timeout. 

Lynn managed to knot up the score at 22-22 and again at 23-23. After surrendering the next point, putting Rollins one away from victory, Lynn scored the last three points to take the set. 

The Fighting Knights were able to take the lead in the heat of the fourth frame, but with a 20-18 lead surrounded three straight from the Tars to lose the lead.
