Men's Basketball Loses at Buzzer to Nova Southeastern

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.- Lynn University's men's basketball team lost Nova Southeastern (11-12-), 81-79, on Wednesday night. The Fighting Knights offense was ignited by Aaron Harrison who scored a career-high 28 points with 11 rebounds. Lynn moves to 7-14 overall and 1-10 in Sunshine State Conference action.

Nova Southeastern fired first but by the initial media timeout in the half, Lynn had tied the game 8-all. The Blue & White took its first lead of the game, 26-24, when Kaleb Clyburn made a fast break layup with 6:55 to play before the buzzer. The Fighting Knights shot 55.6 percent from the field while holding NSU to 38.7 percent en route to a 41-35 halftime lead.

Harrison was electric in the first half, connecting on 9-of-10 shots from the field and pulling down six rebounds. Clyburn pitched in 12 points in the half with two assists and a steal. Stian Berg and Chris Page had nine points apiece for the Sharks.

Lynn's momentum carried over into the second half with the Knights shooting 45.2 percent from the field. Nova Southeastern tied the game with 14:04 remaining in the game, 51-all. Two minutes later NSU extended its lead to 58-53, but a Josh Soto trey would quickly put Lynn back on track. Harrison hit a shot from downtown with 7:47 left in the half to put Lynn within two from NSU, 68-66. Clyburn drained a pivotal three-point shot a minute later to put Lynn on top, 71-70. Lynn put up a shot with one second on the clock but it was no good resulting in a two point loss for the Fighting Knights.

NSU had six players score in double digits while Harrison and Clyburn combined to score 49 points for the Blue & White. Lynn shot 50 percent from the field in the game and 39.1 percent from three-point range.
