Box Score Lakeland, Fla. – Lynn University's volleyball team began Sunshine State Conference play Friday night at the George W. Jenkins Field House, losing 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-16) to the Florida Southern Moccasins. With the loss Lynn drops to 4-4 and 0-1 in the SSC.
Elyse Fleck posted double-digit kills for the seventh time this season with 10.Marissa Tandron had a team-high 23 assists and eight digs. Katie Knight led the defense with 10 kills. Freshman Morgan Dulaney had a career-high seven digs in the loss.
In the opening set Lynn kept the contest close, but a pair of 3-0 runs in the middle of the frame gave Florida Southern the stanza. Fleck and Tandron both had three kills in the opener while the sophomore also provided nine assists and two digs. Raffa and Knight led the defense with three digs apiece.
For the second straight set Lynn started strong but could not maintain thepace going down 2-0 to Florida Southern. Fleck continued to lead the offense with four kills in the loss with Knight providing three. Dulaney anchored the defense with five kills.
In the finale Florida Southern went on a 11-2 run to end the night. Fleck recorded three kills while Tandron had seven assists for the second-straight set. Knight led four Knights who posted double-digit digs with five.
