BOCA RATON, Fla.- Lynn University's women's basketball team fell to 7-15 overall and 1-12 in Sunshine State Conference action with a 67-62 loss to Saint Leo at home on Saturday afternoon. The Fighting Knights had three players score in double figures and were led by Zachara Bailey who had her second-straight game as the Blue & White's leading scorer with 14 points. 

Saint Leo scored first but Lynn responded and took its only lead of the game with 16:28 on the clock in the first half. SLU would put itself back on top and hold the lead throughout the first half holding a 10-point advantage at the break, 32-22. The Fighting Knights shot 32.1 percent from the field in the first half but connected on 4-of-7 shots from downtown to shoot and impressive 57.1 percent from three-point range. Lynn edged the Lions 19-15 in rebounds as Bailey was the Blue & White's leading scorer with six points and three assists. 

At the 14 and a half minute mark Saint Leo led by ten, but over the next four and a half minutes Lynn rallied to tie the game 46-all after Charla Nelson-James made the second of two free throw attempts. SLU would pull ahead once again by nine, 59-50, with six minutes to play and despite the Blue & White closing the gap to three points a minute later, SLU held on to win by five. 

The Fighting Knights scored 24 points in the paint and just six points off its bench in the second stanza. Lynn improved to shoot 48.3 percent from the floor and made 10-of-12 shots from the charity line in the half. Sharneka McCatty had a team-best 12 points in the final frame while Bailey and Nelson-James each added eight points. 

Lynn will have a week's rest before traveling to Florida Southern on Saturday, February 21, for a 5:30 pm match against the Moccasins. Fans can follow the action live at LynnFightingKnights.com.
