Box Score BOCA RATON, Fla.- Lynn University senior Tylar Tracy matched a career-high 21 points in her last game as a Fighting Knight on Saturday. The Blue & White fell to Florida Tech (20-6, 10-6) in the final game of the 2014-15 season, 78-74. Lynn finishes the season 7-18 overall and 1-15 in Sunshine State Conference play.
Tracy had a team-high 13 points in the first half shooting three-for-four from three-point range. Junior Tifani Kerrison added 12 points to help the Blue & White lead by four, 40-36, at halftime. Lynn shot 44.4 percent from the field and 54.5 percent from downtown connecting on six treys. The Panthers were led by Tiesha Flagler who had a team-best 13 points and six rebounds. FIT shot 44 percent from the field and edged Lynn 21-14 in rebounds. The Blue & White was able to capitalize on 17 turnovers by Florida Tech whole recording nine steals.
Florida Tech took the lead with 15:21 to play in the second half, 46-44. The Panthers would go on a 7-0 run to lead by nine with 12:45 left. Lynn tied the game with a tip-in by LaKendra Jones at the nine minute mark, 57-all. With seven minutes left the Fighting Knights were in a seven point deficit but battled out to take the lead 67-66 after a jumper by Kerrison at 5:08. A free throw by Shatorria Baker with 1:53 to play knotted the game at 74-all but Kayk Wilson would score four straight points for the Panthers on a jumper and a pair of free throws to seal the FIT win.
Lynn shot just 26.7 percent in the second stanza and was outrebounded 22-18. Baker and Tracy both led the team with eight points. Florida Tech saw Flager score 14 points and pull down 10 boards in the half while Shequana Harris had a team-best 15 points.
Overall, Lynn had four players score in double figures as the team shot 35.1 percent from the field. Alongside Tracy was Kerrison with 14 points, Baker with 11 points and LaKendra Jones with a career-high 10 points and seven rebounds in her final game for the Blue & White. Florida Tech's Flagler led all scorers with 27 points while Harris had 21 points.
As the Fighting Knights season comes to a close, Lynn honored its five seniors, Tracy, Jones, Jayde Sparks, Sharneka McCatty and Isidora Madzarevic in senior day ceremonies before the game. Lynn will return six players for next season.
