HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • First Quarter: Tifani Kerrison and Charla Nelson-James carried the offense in a low-scoring (8-6) first quarter. Kerrison knocked down the first five for the Fighting Knights, before Nelson-James came in off the bench to chip in the next three. Lynn's smothering defense led to Embry-Riddle shooting 2-of-12 (16.7%) from the field.
  • Second Quarter: The Eagles opened up the scoring in the second frame with a layup down low then strung together three foul shots to take an 11-10 lead. Shaunt'e Tucker responded with a triple followed by a Kerrison layup to produce the largest lead of the first half, 15-11 in favor of Lynn at the 6:43 mark. Nina Guillaume converted back-to-back inside feeds as both sides traded buckets until the halftime buzzer sounded, knotted up at 25-25.
  • Third Quarter: Bria Huffmann immediately went to work after the break, knocking down jumpers from the top of the key on Lynn's first two possessions while coming up big on the glass. Shatorria Baker and Zachara Bailey dropped in consecutive 3-pointers to match Embry-Riddle's two treys in the frame but the Eagles opened up a four-point lead (45-41) heading into the final quarter.
  • Fourth Quarter: Nelson-James took over offensively for Lynn in the closing 10 minutes, scoring 11 of the team's final 14 points. The senior center kicked off the scoring with three points the hard way followed by a bucket inside to put Lynn back in front. The Blue & White controlled the edge with 4:14 remaining, 53-52, but the Eagles eventually closed out on a 10-0 run to secure the win.
